New Development in Laser Resurfacing
Fractional laser resurfacing has been very popular of late for rejuvenating and improving the look of aged and wrinkled skin. This is a technique where we use lasers and other energy sources to treat through the epidermis and into the dermis at varying depths, but treat it in a fractional manner.

Treats Small Areas at a Time
We pass a laser hand piece over 100% of the surface area, but we're only treating 20-30% of the surface of the skin. A way to think of this is very similar to when you have a lawn aerated. We move along and the laser creates little holes in the skin but there is normal skin in between that helps that area grow in. This is in fact what we are doing, on a microscopic scale, on the skin.

Less Risk of Scarring
What that has allowed us to do is have a bit more downtime with redness and swelling, but very little risk of scarring with the increased benefits of reducing fine lines and coarser wrinkles. This also treats the scars associated with photo-damage.
